Material used to repair a tooth damaged by decay, restoring its normal function and shape.
A dental filling is a treatment to restore the function, integrity, and morphology of missing tooth structure resulting from caries or external trauma. Materials used include composite resin, amalgam, gold, and porcelain. The decayed area is removed, cleaned, and filled with the chosen material.
